Hilary Benn, UK's Minister for International Development, Sir Bob Geldof and Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka were welcomed to the Africa All Party Parliamentary Group by chairman, Tony Worthington, MP. The meeting, aimed at briefing British parliamentarians and their guests about the Commission for Africa, was attended by Members of Parliament, the diplomatic community, Aid agencies, representatives of the Africa Diaspora and journalists.
2004 Best Practice award winners announced

UN-HABITAT to play stronger humanitarian role

UN-HABITAT has been invited to participate as a full member of the UN’s Executive Committee for Humanitarian Affairs (ECHA) in a move that will strengthen its work in countries recovering from conflict or natural disasters like Afghanistan, Kosovo, Liberia, or Haiti and enable the agency to cooperate more closely with major UN bodies involved in humanitarian work around the world.
African Ministers and Senior Water Educators visit Thailand
