UN high-level forum spotlights young people’s potential as agents of change

Hundreds of young people converged on the United Nations in New York today as the General Assembly kicked off a high-level meeting devoted to tackling the challenges facing youth and exploring their potential to bring about change in their societies and in the world at large.


Opportunities

This fund promotes the poverty reduction aims of Millennium Development Goals and the Habitat Agenda for better, more sustainable and equitable towns and cities throughout the developing world. It provides grants ranging from USD 5,000 to USD 25,000 for new ideas and solutions for job creation, good governance, adequate shelter and secure tenure.Read more.

Some of the world’s leading popular artists and musicians from Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, Greenland, Sudan, Germany and South Africa work with UN-HABITAT to raise awareness of urban issues.  Through their performances, they tell passionate stories and highlight issues ranging women’s rights to urban slum conditions.Read more
