Korean company to support UN-Habitat’s work in Kibera
	Nairobi, 9 Dec 13 Grand Korea Leisure Co. Ltd, a Korean-based private company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UN-Habitat to work on sustainable economic development for residents of the Kibera slum in Nairobi.

UN-Habitat enters into partnership with Norwegian Youth Council
	Nairobi, 4 Nov 13 Seeking to further enhance the voice of youth in its work and activities, UN-Habitat has entered into a partnership with the Norwegian Children and Youth Council (LNU), an umbrella organization for more than 90 non-governmental organizations and more than 500,000 young people for children and youth.


Discussing Youth Land Governance and Urbanization Challenges, USAID
	Washington DC Wednesday 18th September 2013, 3 Oct 13 USAID organized a brown-bag meeting to discuss the challenges, issues ad concerns young people face in land governance in the context of an urbanizing world. Our Youth and Land project co-coordinators from Brazil, Zimbabwe and Kenya attended and presented the research gaps in the youth dimensions of land in their respective countries.


Round Table Dialogue on Investing in Young People
	, 3 Oct 13 Organized by the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, Ahmad Alhendawi, the round table involved the different UN entities whose work tackle youth issues and how together, as the Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development (IANYD), they could support the UN System Wide Action Plan (SWAP) for youth which will ensure that within the UN, young people are included in decision making at all levels of development processes.


Making Youth Participation in the UN Sustainable - Open IANYD Meeting

Positively influencing life in the slums
	Nairobi, 21 Aug 13 Raphael Obonyo’s story is one of a dogged determination that has seen him fight all odds to be an influential youth leader. Raphael grew up in Korogocho, a sprawling urban slum in Nairobi, Kenya where he has co-founded vibrant community youth led initiatives. Raphael, 32 is the external adviser and a member of the UN Habitat’s Youth Advisory Board, which advises the agency on how to engage, integrate and respond effectively on issues affecting the youth. This puts Raphael at the global sphere of influential young leaders who can help shape the world by addressing post 2015 thematic issues that touch on the youth.
