International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC)  
IRC is developing local capacities for planning and delivering Basic Urban Services (BUS) in un(der) served areas through partnerships. BUS initiatives are currently being implemented in Bobo Dioulasso , Burkina Faso with support of a local NGO, CREPA and in Kotte and Wattala in Greater Colombo, Sri Lanka with the support of a network of local organisations including ITDG, National Housing Development Agency, NERD, SEVANATHA and MaRGG.

UNEP LAC GEO City site  
The Global Environment Outlook is an urban improvement process focussing on environment in collaboration with the respective municipality, relevant stakeholders, UNEP and UN Habitat. After the city’s environmental state is assessed and the GEO has occurred, UN-HABITAT takes over with its Sustainable Cities and Localizing Agenda 21 programmes process methodologies. In Esmeralda and Loya, two cities in Ecuador this collaboration has already started.
