Safira is a graduate of Law. She has worked with two major Brazilian law firms and with the Federal Public Defender of Brazil (a government body with a concern for poor people). She is currently the Director of Social Promotion and Citizenship of the Academic Association of the Faculty of Law and has also been involved with “Un Techo Para Mi Pais” (“a roof for my country”), “Our Sao Paulo Movement”, “Brazilian Social Network for Equitable and Sustainable Cities”, “Agenda 21” network and “the Millennium Development Goals Movement of the State of São Paulo” (“São Paulo, we can”).
