Kenya Manufacturers promote Green Building

The agreement signed in Nairobi, by Andre Dzikus on behalf of UN-Habitat and the Chief Operating Officer, Kennedy Mohochi for KAM, is aimed at building the capacity of stakeholders in Kenya on energy efficiency measures in the construction, operation and maintenance of both residential and commercial buildings.
President Kikwete inaugurates a UN-Habitat water project in Muleba, Tanzania

President Jakaya Kikwete recently inaugurated the Muleba Water Supply Project which was implemented by UN-Habitat. The project is under the first phase of the Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Initiative. It has provided a steady supply of safe drinking to the residents of Muleba who, in the past, were forced to rely on polluted sources of water to meet their needs.
East and Central African ministers agree on a roadmap for the Lake Tanganyika Programme

UN-Habitat joins forces with International Tunnelling Association

UN-Habitat and the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their collaboration in urban drainage management. The MOU was signed by the Executive Director of the association, Mr. Olivier Vion, and Mr. Andre Dzikus, the Coordinator of Urban Basic Services at UN-Habitat.
