Lebanon hosts conference on regional and urban planning reforms

The Ministry of Public Works of Lebanon and UN-Habitat last week held a  conference on “Reforming Urban and Regional Planning System in Lebanon” in Beirut.

Bahrain provides USD 1 million for UN-Habitat Palestinian support  
Bahrain, 29 Jun 12
The Government of Kingdom of Bahrain has made a donation of USD 1 million to the Technical Cooperation Trust Fund of the Special Human Settlements Programme for the Palestinian People. The contribution came in response to a resolution of Member States in the Governing Council which oversees UN-Habitat’s work programme and budget.

A UN-HABITAT project team in Lebanon helping rebuild the living environment in 21 towns around the country recently briefed the Cypriot Foreign Minister, Mrs. Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis, on progress in a post-conflict rehabilitation programme for which the Development Assistance Agency of the Republic of Cyprus (Cyprusaid) has provided 500,000 euros through UN-HABITAT.
