| Occupied Palestinian Territories | To mark WHD in the occupied Palestinian Territories various activities took place. UN-HABITAT’s Ramallah office in the West Bank, published a Fact Sheet with inputs from all UN agencies operating in the occupied territories. The focus of the fact sheet was "the situation of Palestinian cities including East Jerusalem". The WHD messages of the UN-HABITAT Executive Director and the UN Secretary General were disseminated through local newspapers. A television round table session organized with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing discussed the messages, the problems of occupied territories and possibilities to overcome these problems, and explored options towards development and sustainability. |
