The Management Support Section manages UN-HABITAT’s financial and human resources to ensure the effective implementation of the organization’s work programme by providing advisory services, coordinating financial resource management, human resource management and administrative support services in liaison with the United Nations Office in Nairobi.

It ensures timely reporting on the utilization of the organization’s resources to the Committee of Permanent Representatives, Governing Council, and General Assembly as well as other funding partners.

In support of the mid-term plan’s objectives, this section is responsible for the development of human resource management strategies, policies, training and practices within UN-HABITAT and coordinating the preparation of results based budgets in support of the biennial work programme and annual work plans. It also monitors and ensures the effective delivery of administrative and common services by the United Nations Office in Nairobi and other providers as appropriate.
