Remembering RenĂ© Frank

Mr. René Frank, winner of the 2002 UN-HABITAT Scroll of Honour Award, passed away in New York this week after a brief illness. He was 86.

The Executive Director of UN-HABITAT, Anna Tibaijuka, presented Nasreen Mustafa Sideek Berwari, Minister for Municipalities and Public Works in Iraq and Margaret Catley-Carlson, Chair of the Global Water Partnership, with the Habitat Scroll of Honour award during the 12th Commission on Sustainable Development.
King of Thailand receives UN Award

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand was presented with the Habitat Scroll of Honour Award at a special ceremony on Wednesday by Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, Under-Secretary General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UN-HABITAT. The hand-crafted gold plaque was presented during an audience at the Krai Kangwon Palace.
