UN-HABITAT’s Executive Director, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka, last week joined Princess Mathilde of Belgium to urge women and young people to be actively involved in the climate change debate and other pressing concerns in a rapidly urbanising world. "Women’s local knowledge and experience of the environment should be tapped in designing climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies,” she told delegates at a conference entitled, Cities need dynamic women.
