Background and Objectives:
The Unified System of Information on Violence and Delinquency (SUIVD) is the first successful case in the development of Observatories in the Office of the Secretary of Government of Bogotá.
The success and results obtained in recent years have stimulated similar initiatives in other units of the Office of the Secretary. However, the wide range of information systems in use within the Office of the Secretary of Government does not enable smooth and usable data management, and furthermore it has led to the duplication of technological platforms within the secretariat.
The objectives are:
Exchanging knowledge and practices through an international workshop on safer cities.
Designing Observatories in the various units of the Office of the Secretary of Government, and recommendations on how to manage the Observatories.
Developing tools from which the Network of Observatories of the Office of the Secretary of Government will operate.
Systemizing the network of Observatories within the Office of the Secretary of Government.
Activities:
The main activities include:
Coordinating the participation of speakers in the International Workshop Seminar.
Guiding the process of design of the Observatories and of the Observatories Network of the Local Government.
Guiding the definition of the indices and indicators, which will be used by the observatories network?
Results:
International seminar on safer cities conducted.
A network of observatories created in the Office of the Secretary of Government.
The tool on which the Network of Observatories of the Office of the Secretary of Government operates was implemented.
The Network of Observatories of the Office of the Secretary of Government documented and systematized.
