The UN-HABITAT Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (ROLAC) is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It oversees the work of six country programmes in Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico and Nicaragua. It implements the Habitat Agenda in the region through operational activities that respond to demands from the natural constituencies in more than 50 cities in 14 countries. The Rio-based team works with representatives of national and local government, civil society, academia and the private sector across the region. It also supports the Nairobi headquarters by providing information for the production of flagship reports, promoting World Habitat Day, the World Urban Forum and the World Urban Campaign. |
