UN-Habitat and Arcadis organized the Shelter Academy in Rotterdam on 13-15 September, on the topic of 'Adapting and Mitigating Climate Change: Challenges for Port Cities'
Adapting to climate change brings with it many challenges. Central to addressing these challenges will be in learning how better understanding of how the issue of global climate change can be used to benefit developing societies; combining economic social and environmental issues into a balanced development. The Academy will focus on concrete situations based on participant case studies.
Participants will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge on responding to general urban challenges. Support will be given in the development of action plans for each participant and it is hoped that participants will be inspired by the solutions discussed.
