Global Energy Network for Urban Settlements holds Interregional Steering Committee Meeting  
Naples, 3 Sept 12
On the sidelines of the Sixth Session of the World Urban Forum held last September in Naples, Italy, UN-Habitat convened an Interregional Steering Committee meeting to review the status of the Global Energy Network for the Urban Settlements (GENUS) initiative and to discuss the draft Anchoring Strategy of the initiative beyond the Development Account Support.
New Network tackles Transport Research Challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa

Members of the new Transport and Environment Science Technology (TEST) Network met late last month at the UN-HABITAT headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya to discuss transport and environment research challenges in sub-Saharan African countries.
UN-HABITAT launches Urban Energy Network in Latin America

UN-HABITAT launched its Global Energy Network for Urban Settlements (GENUS) in Latin America this week at a meeting convened to help find innovative solutions for waste management and ways of converting waste into a source of energy.
