Booyoung group commits USD 3 million to UN-HABITAT

UN-HABITAT said this week it had signed an agreement with the Booyoung Group of the Republic of Korea whereby the construction-centered corporation will provide the agency with USD 3 million over the next decade to promote urban development and habitat improvement in Africa.
The World Habitat Day celebrations in Laos

To mark the World Habitat Day 2011, representatives from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and UN-HABITAT got together at an event held in the UN House in Vientiane on Monday 3rd of October. The purpose of the event was to reflect on this year's theme 'Cities and Climate Change' and what this means in the Laos context.

Myanmar cyclone funding shortfall

UN-HABITAT partners with Australian mining company to supply water in Laos

UN-HABITAT water and sanitation office opened in China

UN-HABITAT has announced that it will open a new office in Beijing, China as it expands the agency's Water for Asian Cities Programme. The office, to be based at the National Training Centre for Mayors, is planned under an agreement signed last week with the National Mayor’s Training Centre of Ministry of Construction.
