Training at the Rio forum is geared to providing skill-enhancing courses for participants at large international meetings. The courses offer a “how-to” approach on the many topics aimed at bridging the urban divide and achieving sustainable urban development.

These courses, conducted in English, will be held at the main conference centre in Rio de Janeiro from 23 March 2010 to 25 March 2010. They will run for up to three hours and accommodate a maximum of 50 people. Each day, eight training sessions will run concurrently from 9 AM to noon. Participants will have the opportunity to register online free of charge. The Forum Secretariat will provide training rooms and training management support, and the organizers are responsible for the travel of those conducting the training.

We would like to thank all those who sent in proposals for training events at the Forum. Some 100 applications were received. From these, an impressive array of 24 events organized by 23 international organizations, training institutions and non-governmental organizations were selected. The sessions cover a wide variety of topics, including governance, planning, water and sanitation, housing, transport, land, environment, local eocnomic development and urban safety.

The online registration for each training event will automatically close once the desirable maximum number is reached. The final closing date for online registration will be 15 March 2010.

To register, please click on one of the courses below. Due to high demand you can register for ONLY one training event.
