THE RURAL DIMENSION OF SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT

Draft resolution submitted by the Chair of the Drafting Committee

The Commission on Human Settlements,

Recalling paragraph 6 of the Istanbul Declaration on Human Settlements 1/ and paragraphs 163-169 of the Habitat Agenda, 2/

Requests that urban-rural interdependence be taken into consideration in the execution of the work programme of the Centre for the next biennium, given the strong synergy between urban and rural areas.
