SUD-Net will draw on a range of resources to put its plans into practice: which include the support of institutions, organisations, networks, and other professionals. SUD-Net’s strategy is to expand the thematic focus areas to address priority areas and challenges facing small/medium cities lacking the necessary capacities, without compromising the quality of the outputs and the focus on the urban poor.

SUD-Net will complement the existing collaborations between UN-HABITAT and bilateral and multilateral organizations that are supporting urban development. SUD-Net builds upon existing and new programmes and projects and thus has both a regional and global outreach. It will integrate partnerships and networks involved in Sustainable Urban Development through a SUD-Net global portal, and collaborative activities, to create coherence in the approaches to sustainable urban designs and systems for improving basic infrastructure services.
