The African Ministerial Meeting on Housing and Urban Development (AMCHUD) is co-sponsored by the Government of South Africa, the African Union and UN-HABITAT. We are grateful to the Government of South Africa, which through its Ministry of Housing, is providing the conference facilities and services at Durban International Convention Centre.

In addition to organizing and providing secretariat support to the conference, the three sponsors will fund the participation costs of some delegates, particularly those from Least Developed Countries to ensure wide participation from all over Africa. This is important because a major output of the conference – an action-oriented framework for Sustainable Cities and Towns in Africa – must take into account the problems and needs of all the countries on the continent.
