The Water and Sanitation Program (WSP) is an international partnership of the world's leading development agencies concerned with improving sector policies, practices and capacities to serve poor people. Our goal is to alleviate poverty by helping the poor gain sustained access to water and sanitation services. The Water and Sanitation Program (WSP) began in 1979 as a cooperative effort between The World Bank and the United Nations Development Program to look at cost-effective technologies and models for providing safe water and sanitation to the world's poor. http://www.wsp.org/

The Cities Alliance A multi-donor alliance with cities and their development partners. It focuses on two priorities for action: City Development Strategies (CDS) that link the process by which local stakeholders define their vision for their city with investment strategies for priority actions. CDS activities are already under way in a number of cities, and it is expected that they will leverage investments from a wide range of partners; City-wide and nation-wide slum upgrading programs designed to scale-up the impact of community upgrading efforts in order to improve the living conditions of the urban poor at a heretofore unprecedented scale. http://www.citiesalliance.org
