Description Science and business can make many things possible. In today's fast-moving world, however, we need dialogue more than ever before – between executives and researchers, and among policy-makers and ordinary citizens. The aim of Future Dialogue is to create a forum for that conversation. For that reason Peter Löscher, CEO of Siemens AG, and Professor Peter Gruss, President of Max Planck Society, initiated the Conference Series Future Dialogue. After the big successes of the Future Dialogue conferences 2009 in Berlin and 2010 in Beijing this years' event in New Delhi will focus on the topic of sustainable cities. We will take a look into fast-growing developing countries like India that face the combined challenges of facilitating economic growth, while controlling both the environmental and social impact of rapid development. Those contradictions are concentrated in cities and, with hundreds of millions of people migrating to urban areas in the next few decades, the challenges are growing. The Future Dialogue will be a Flagship Event in the German and India Year 2011-2012 and will take place one day after the opening. Event Organization Name of organization: Event Partners: Siemens AG/Max Planck Society/ EIU Event focal point: Sustainable cities – challenges and opportunities of rapid urbanisation E-mail address: andrea.frost@siemens.com Website: www.future-dialogue.org/ Information on this years Future Dialogue will be available by April. |
