The UN-Water Seminar on “UN-Water’s Perspective on Water Supply and Sanitation and needs for Capacity Development in Africa” will focus on the current programmes and initiatives that UN-Water Members and Partners are currently implementing in Africa in the area of water supply and sanitation. The session will explore the different approaches and perspectives in search of synergies, needs and gaps in capacity development.

The outcomes of the seminar will be disseminated and presented in different international for a such as the 5th World Urban Forum on 22-26 March 2010 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, starting the week after the African International Water Congress.

The suggestions and recommendations made during this seminar will be evaluated by UNW-DPC in collaboration with UN-Water members and partners in order to guide future UN-Water capacity development activities.
