 A Polish delegation last week visited UN-HABITAT headquarters and held talks with the Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Inga Klevby on their country’s bid to host the EXPO 2012. Mr. Eugeniusz Rzewuski, Representative for Africa of the Polish Government for EXPO 2012, said the theme of the Wroclaw 2012 Expo would be, “The culture of leisure in the world’s economies”. He also sought closer collaboration with UN-HABITAT’s World Urban Forum and indicated Warsaw’s willingness to lead the preparatory process and ensure a high level participation by Poland. Ms. Klevby, citing Poland’s strong links with UN-HABITAT in eastern Europe, said she hoped Poland would take the lead in showcasing east European human settlements priorities at the fourth session of the World Urban Forum next year in Nanjing, China. |
