The new Permanent Representatives of Argentina and Romania to UN-HABITAT on Wednesday presented their credentials to the Executive Director, Mrs. Anna Tibaijuka. Exchanging views with the Executive Director, the Argentinean envoy Mr. Daniel Chuburu stated that there was a great opportunity for cooperation between his country and UN-HABITAT particularly in the area of sanitation, slum upgrading and the sharing of expertise. Noting that Argentina had been elected the technical secretariat of the General Assembly of Ministers and Maximum Authorities of Housing and the Urbanism of the Latin America and the Caribbean Countries (MINURVI), Mrs. Tibaijuka called for a meeting of the Secretariats of the regional housing bodies for the exchange of ideas.
