The problems of growing urbanisation throughout Africa will be highlighted at the Third Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD III) from September 29 to October 1, marking the occasion of TICAD’s 10th anniversary. The conference will be attended by Alioune Badiane, Director of UN-HABITAT’s, Regional Office for Africa and Arab States (ROAAS), several African leaders, as well as government ministers and representatives from the Global Coalition for Africa, the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Africa, the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank.
