The UN-Habitat Evaluation Policy was developed and approved by the UN-Habitat Board in January 2013 and is an important step towards enhancing the evaluation function and ensuring independence, credibility and utility of UN-Habitat's evaluations. The policy describes the institutional framework for the effective conduct and management of UN-Habitat's evaluations, including roles and responsibilities of various partners. It provides principles, norms and standards for planning and conducting evaluations, and explains how evaluations will be prioritized, budgeted for and managed.
