Call for submissions

Do you have a programme or project which has resulted in the improvement of the living environment of urban dwellers?

UN-Habitat and Dubai Municipality offer you an opportunity for global recognition through the Dubai International Award for Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment. Every two years, 12 submissions are awarded as winners and 100+ recognized as best practices for their innovative ways of dealing with the common social, economic, and environmental problems.

You can submit in the award categories of Best Practices, Best Practice Transfer, University Research, Private Sector or Personal. Since its establishment, over 4000 practices from 140 countries have been received, compiled and disseminated through the Best Practices Database. The practices are classified into one of four categories: Award Winners, Best Practices, Good Practices or Promising Practices.

The award is open to all sectors: national and regional governments, local authorities and their associations, non-governmental organizations and agencies, multilateral agencies, community based organizations, research and academic institutions, public and private foundations, media entities as well as individuals.

We invite submissions for the 2014 cycle which starts from December 2013.
