Global Crisis: Planning and Challenges to Spatial Justice is the theme of the IV World Planning Schools Conference to be held in Rio de Janeiro in July 2016. This international gathering of city and regional planning educators and scholars will be organized by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IPPUR/UFRJ) Instituto de Pesquisa e Planejamento Urbano e Regional and follows on previous events in Shanghai, Mexico City, and Perth. The sponsoring organizations, under the leadership of the (GPEAN) Global Planning Education Association Network are: (ANPUR) the National Association of Urban and Regional Post-graduate and Research Programmes (Brazil); AAPS, the Association of African Planning Schools; ACSP, the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (USA); ACUPP, the Association of Canadian University Planning Programs; AESOP, the Association of European Schools of Planning; ALEUP, the Latin-American Association of Schools of Urbanism and Planning; ANZAPS, the Australia and New Zealand Association of Planning Schools; APERAU, the Association for the Devleopment of Planning Education and Research (Francophone); and APSA, the Asian Planning Schools Association.
