UN-Habitat through the Global Water Operators Alliance (GWOPA) and WaterLinks will host a seminar on the sidelines of the Singapore Water Week to run on 2-6 July 2012.

The seminar on Advancing Water Operator Partnerships (WOPs) in Asia and the Pacific aims to: present progress of global and regional WOPs initiatives in building the capacity of urban water and sanitation services providers and in ensuring improved services delivery to urban residents in Asia and the Pacific; and to engage more stakeholders to participate in and support WOPs.

This seminar will also be an opportunity for participants to listen to several case studies on twinning partnerships with a focus on sanitation, climate resiliency and water supply provision and exchange ideas with professionals from the water and sanitation sectors Hosted by UN-Habitat, the Global Water Operators' Partnerships Alliance is a network of partners committed to helping water operators help one another improve their collective capacity to provide access to water and sanitation services for all.

Established in 2008, WaterLinks is a regional network of water services operators, practitioners and development partners that supports WOPs in the Asia-Pacific region and catalyzes efficiency improvements to enhance and expand access to urban water and sanitation services.
