UN-HABITAT’s staff photographer, Mr. Julius Mwelu, this week was announced the winner of the Connect4Climate (C4C) photographic award at the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
His winning entry, Homemade soccer ball, shown here, won the first prize in the health category for the 25-35 age group from among nearly 700 submissions sent in from every African country.
The Connect4Climate Team and Jury said the prize offered Mr. Mwelu the opportunity to send a brief video message of up to half minute for world leaders and decision makers attending the climate talks.
During his tenure at the city agency of the United Nations, Mr. Mwelu, has won other awards, including With Magnum Foundation, the Prix Bayeux for War Correspondence, and the Friends of the Earth International award. |
