| These Guidelines have been developed to assist Agency's staff, consultants, partners and all those involved with UN-HABITAT programming to ensure that Environmental Assessment considerations are integrated into the UN-HABITAT project and programme cycle management. They address key areas including UN-HABITAT's stand on Environmental Assessment; procedural issues related to Environmental Assessment requirements; how and when to carry out the Environmental Assessment; appropriate levels of Environmental Assessment and what they are expected to achieve; monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the Environmental Assessment recommendations; and the overall integration of Environmental Assessment in UN-HABITAT programming. |
