Start Date : 2 Nov 11
End Date : 2 Nov 11
Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Realizing the Millennium Development Goals on water and sanitation (MDG 7c) is a huge challenge, in a great part of the world. Public water utilities can play a significant role in order to achieve those MDGs, by sharing their know how and experience with colleagues in a deprived situation. The Netherlands is one of the countries that has a long tradition of sharing know how on solving water related problems by international peer to peer twinning on a solidarity basis. This type of peer to peer cooperation between water utilities was later called Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOP).

The "Each One Teach One" WOP conference will be organized on 2 November 2011 on the occasion of the International Water Week Amsterdam from 29 October to 4 November. This conference will be an opportunity for those who are interested in beginning a new WOP with partners in the North or partners in the South. Or perhaps you are interested to come on board of an existing WOP. It will be an interesting meeting point for policy makers and water operators on capacity development for our ultimate goal: Universal access to drinking water and sanitation in a safe environment.

The conference will be organized by the World Waternet in cooperation with GWOPA/UN-HABITAT.
