The World Water Week has been the annual focal point for the globe's water issues since 1991. This year's theme of the Week is "Responding to Global Changes - Water in an Urbanising World."
During the course of the Week, UN-HABITAT and its partners are convening a number of seminars to discuss important issues addressing the challenges of monitoring drinking water and sanitation progress in urban settings, among others.
Dr. Joan Clos, Executive Director of UN-HABITAT will deliver a keynote address at the Week's opening taking place on 22 August.
