Undertake national consultation

Completion of all city profiles and national profile

The conclusion of the urban profiles will help to inform multi sectoral and participatory consultations at city and national levels. Cross-sectoral issues that need to be taken into consideration at the city and national levels, in order to implement short-term and long-term solutions will also be identified.

Launched in April 2008, the Participatory Slum Upgrading Programme aims to contribute towards urban poverty reduction and the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals, particularly Goal 7, Target 10, “reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water by 2015”, and Target 11, “achieving significant improvement in the lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers until 2020”. The Programme is currently being implemented in the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) States.
