UN-HABITAT in collaboration with Uganda's Makerere University will host a workshop for African Universities from 3-5 May 2011 aiming to strengthen their urban climate change courses. The meeting aims at conceptualizing generic modules to be used in urban planning and related courses. These modules will cover: an introduction to climate change and urban planning, urban vulnerability assessments, measuring climate footprint in cities and developing climate change mitigation responses. The meeting will also aim to position African universities for the global meeting of the Cities and Climate Change Academy to be held in Bonn from 1-2 June 2011.
