Moscow Office

UN-HABITAT’s Moscow Office oversees the agency’s work in Russia. It translates major UN-HABITAT publications and the quarterly magazine, Habitat Debate, into Russian. In 2006, Moscow signed a new agreement with the agency under which Russia will provide at least 400,000 US dollars annually to support UN-HABITAT’s work in Russia. A proportion of this funding will also be allocated as non-earmarked funding the agency. The agreement provides for the establishment of Habitat National Officer’s post in Moscow who will act as the agency’s representative until the office is beefed up into a major regional hub for the Commonwealth of Independent States.
